Hope for the Best

Each year, I like to pick a theme for the coming year and this year I've settled on "Hope for the Best".  Ordinarily, this statement goes along with "Close your eyes" but I'm thinking I'll have my eyes wide open.

The main reason I believe this is a powerful mantra for me this year is because it intentionally leaves off the added phrase "expect the worst".  That is something I am simply refusing to do.

Expecting the worst is how I used to operate and I can definitely feel that it is outdated.  It is chafing at me and causing serious discomfort.

Alright 2011, I'm going to Hope for the Best .... and get it.
